Jumping here Beginner WS Course

Wingsuit base jumping has grown a lot in the last few years, which is great! At the same time, we have recognized the need for some sort of guidance – especially for those wanting to take the first steps in becoming wingsuit pilots.

Kjerag is, with its 1000-meter cliff, one of the best places in the world for your first WS base jumps. The aim of this course, is to give you a good understanding of the basics of WS base. This includes assessing conditions, having a flight plan, techniques for a safe exit, the angle of attack while in flight, when and how to pull… Added together, these components help you to create your platform for future progress in WS base.

Because of the potential of water landings, having a cutaway system on your rig is recommended. If you haven’t visited Kjerag before, be adviced that there is a 2-4-hour hike to the exit. If you need 4 hours, you are likely to be exhausted after the hike; which may not be ideal when you are about to do your first WS base jump. Being in good shape when you get here will help you a lot.

It is IMPORTANT that you have enough skydives using the suit you plan to wear while making your first jumps. A minimum of 50 WS skydives (preferably more) is recommended. Also recommended is a full season – or more – of tracking big walls before getting into WS base. A minimum of 40 big wall track jumps is required!

• Theory (safety discussions etc).
• Exit training using the pendulator.
• Jumps with video footage captured from the exit – footage briefing and debriefing.

Theory starts on Monday at 19:00 and we jump from Tuesday until Thursday.
During this course we usually do from 4 to 6 jumps
